How to torture your dog at Christmas

A few days ago I wrote you about Suzie and the rawhide chews...

I finally found a USB port on my computer that would work, so was able to download the photos. Here is a portrait of a dog who should be in a state of joy - but feeling miserable because she has to stay and guard those darned chews!

When she wasn't laying beside them, she was walking around with both of them in her mouth... not a comfortable position!

Finally, to give her relief, I took them away.

Just so the 3 canines wouldn't feel left out on Christmas morning, I got them each a rawhide chew... forgetting entirely that it wasn't a good idea.

Ralph loves them, but he was funny. He was being lazy, so stayed laying flat on his side while he chewed. It looked a bit awkward, but he managed to consume the whole thing.

Pepper wasn't too sure he wanted his, but he carried it around and gave it an occasional chew.

Then there was Suzie. She doesn't even like the things, but somehow feels that she needs to hang on to them. So she wandered around the house with the chew in her mouth, looking like she simply didn't know what to do about it.

Then later, after Pepper had abandoned his, she took it too. She then alternated between carrying both of them in her mouth and laying with both between her feet, guarding them. The poor girl couldn't do anything else all day!

Finally, when I heard company arriving for dinner and knew that meant an extra dog in the house, and there could be a battle,I took them away from her.

I think she was relieved.

When Rover goes "out" where does he go?

The new Pet's Eye View Camera is now on the market. After reading about it in the newspaper, I found it on a site called Nerd 7 for $39.95: http://tinyurl.com/d7mm4q

This is a camera that attaches to your dog or cat's collar and takes a digital picture at intervals you pre-set.

Now you'll know for sure... is it really your dog who knocks over the neighbor's trash can every night? Does he or she meet up with a buddy and cruise the neighborhood?

Or maybe you want to know what your dog or cat does when you aren't home... Sleeping on the bed against all rules perhaps? Opening the fridge for a look around? Cruising the counter-tops?

Depending upon the quality of the images, I can see lots of other uses for this one. How about for downhill skiers, or mountain climbers - taking in the view from various vantage points? Or how about for fishermen... just turn it on when you're about to reel in a big one.

I don't even want to think about the "evidence" that could be gathered if you wore this as a necklace when you attend an office party...

Important!! Dog Toy Warning!!

This news has been around since August, but hit my in-box this morning. I considered pasting the email here, but the photos are so awful... I couldn't do it.

The pimple toy with bell - a ball with one hole is VERY dangerous - and has been taken off the market.

After reading why, it appears that ANY rubber toy with just one hole in it would be just as dangerous.
